PREPARING YOUR ARTWORK

Artwork Guidelines

Supplying good-quality artwork helps us produce the best possible results and keeps your order moving through production without unnecessary delays.

Whether you’re ordering embroidered workwear, printed clothing, business stationery, promotional products or signage, the quality and format of the artwork you supply can affect the finished result. Follow the guidelines below to help us prepare your design for production.

ACCEPTED ARTWORK

File Types & Formats

We accept a wide range of common artwork formats. Where possible, we recommend supplying the original vector version of your logo or design, as this allows artwork to be scaled without losing quality.

Accepted File Formats

Vector: AI, EPS, SVG & PDF
Image: JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIF & TIFF
Other: PSD, BMP, GIF & PS
Maximum file size: 50MB

Vector artwork is preferred where available. Vector files are particularly useful for logos, lettering and signage because they can be enlarged or reduced without becoming pixelated.

IMAGE QUALITY

Artwork Resolution & Image Quality

For the best results, please supply your logo or design at the highest quality available. Low-resolution artwork may look acceptable on a phone or computer screen but can become blurred or pixelated when enlarged for printing.

For Best Results

• Supply raster artwork at approximately 300 DPI at the required print size where possible
• Send the largest and highest-quality version of your logo or image available
• Avoid screenshots or images copied from websites and social media where possible
• Supply original vector artwork for logos and lettering whenever available

Large-format signage can have different artwork requirements depending on its finished size and intended viewing distance, so don’t worry if you’re unsure whether your file is suitable.

If we believe your artwork isn’t suitable for producing a good-quality result, we’ll contact you before production begins.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR FILES

Vector vs Raster Artwork

Not all artwork files work in the same way. Understanding the difference between vector and raster artwork can help you supply the best possible file for printing, embroidery and signage.

PREFERRED WHERE AVAILABLE

Vector Artwork

Vector artwork is created using shapes and paths rather than pixels. This means your logo or design can be enlarged to almost any size without becoming blurred or losing quality. It is our preferred format for most logos and branding.

Common formats: AI, EPS, SVG and suitable vector PDF files.

RESOLUTION MATTERS

Raster Artwork

Raster images are made from individual pixels. They can produce excellent results when supplied at a suitable resolution, but enlarging a small image too far can make it appear soft, blurred or pixelated.

Common formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, TIF, TIFF, BMP and PSD.

PREPARING YOUR LOGO

Backgrounds & Transparency

When supplying a logo or design, it’s usually best to provide artwork without an unwanted background. This allows us to position your design cleanly onto the garment, printed product or signage without a white or coloured box appearing around it.

Transparent Artwork

PNG files can support transparent backgrounds, making them useful when supplying logos without a surrounding box. Vector formats such as AI, EPS and SVG can also contain artwork without a background and are generally preferred where available.

JPG files do not support transparency, so a JPG logo will normally include a background as part of the image. If the background isn’t intended to appear on the finished product, please send us an alternative version if you have one.

Don’t have a transparent or vector version? Send us the best-quality artwork you have. We’ll check the file and let you know if anything needs to be changed before production.

KEEPING YOUR BRAND CONSISTENT

Colours & Fonts

If your business uses specific brand colours or fonts, please provide this information with your artwork where possible. This helps us keep your finished workwear, printed products and signage consistent with your existing branding.

Colour Information

If you have specific colour references, such as Pantone, CMYK, RGB or HEX values, please send them with your artwork. Where exact colour matching is important, let us know before production so we can advise on the most suitable method.

Fonts & Text

If your artwork uses a particular font, please provide the font name or supply the text converted to outlines where possible. This helps avoid font substitutions and ensures the finished design matches your approved artwork.

CHECK BEFORE PRODUCTION

Artwork Proofing & Approval

Where artwork approval is required, we will send you a visual proof before production begins. This gives you the opportunity to check the design, wording, layout and positioning before your order is produced.

Please Check Your Proof Carefully

• Check all spelling and wording
• Check telephone numbers, email addresses and other contact details
• Check logo positions and overall layout
• Check the artwork size and proportions where shown
• Let us know if any amendments are required before approval

If changes are needed, let us know and we can revise the artwork before sending an updated proof where required.

Production will begin once the artwork has been approved where approval is required. Please make sure you are happy with all details before approving your proof.
